Now I figured out what to do with the costume I need music help! It's not easy when it comes to music. I've listened to all my CDs and can't get anything that has a 'faery-feel' to it. Maybe something with flutes, but the bits and pieces I have need to be edited and at the moment I have no music editing program.

Re: 'Faery belly dance' music?
Fri, April 10, 2009 - 9:48 AMHi! Hey, what about Loreena McKennitt? She's my favorite singer. I could see doing a faery dance to one of her songs. One of my faves by her is 'All Souls Night.' Don't know if her music is what you have in mind, but I love her. You might check her out. Hope this helps! :)

Re: 'Faery belly dance' music?
Fri, April 10, 2009 - 10:39 AMClassic Loreena McKinnett: Marco Polo (weird name, incredible song)
I also really love many of the tracks off of Mizna by Mizna/Gypsy Caravan (I've got a mermaid piece planned for one of them)
Maybe some Niyaz or Vas would be good too. -

Re: 'Faery belly dance' music?
Fri, April 10, 2009 - 1:07 PMI was going to also suggest Marco Polo by LM! Another one of my faves! I saw a nice veil dance to that song once. -
-
Re: 'Faery belly dance' music?
Fri, April 10, 2009 - 9:19 PMI was thinking Marco Polo at first, but it has been done so much I'd rather not :-)
I'll look up the other songs :-) -

Sat, April 11, 2009 - 2:53 PMAmulya:
Delerium is a group that at times shares a similarity in sound to Enigma though their early work had a heavy middle eastern influence to it. Here's info on Delerium and they're awesome: www.myspace.com/delerium
Mediaeval Baebes is also a group and here is more info about them: www.mediaevalbaebes.com
Best,

Re: 'Faery belly dance' music?
Fri, April 10, 2009 - 9:32 PMVAS, Niyaz, and anything on Azam Ali's album "Elysium for the Brave" could work. Also, Cirque du Soleil's "Dralion" soundtrack has some nice tunes on it.
If you like harp and can find it, Ani William's "Eclipse"* is really pretty.
*Has nothing to do with the craptastic "Twilight" series!!!!!!

Re: 'Faery belly dance' music?
Sat, April 11, 2009 - 9:35 AMWhat about something Irish sounding? I watched the movie 'The Magical Legend of the Leprechauns' over St.Patty's Day, and some of the music is very pretty. It's all about fairies and leprechauns, so I would think the music would be perfect! Great way to get ideas for costuming, too. I think you can find it on amazon.

Fri, April 17, 2009 - 5:55 AMAny links? For that Irish music, and the Daughters of Gaia? -

Re: 'Faery belly dance' music?
Fri, April 17, 2009 - 8:04 AMI would do a search on amazon. I'm not sure if the movie has a soundtrack available, but I would think they might. I love Irish music. I always wanted to try Irish dancing. I would just listen to a bunch of different samples of Irish music on amazon if I were you until you find something you really like. I've never heard Daughters of Gaia. I'll have to look into them.

Re: 'Faery belly dance' music?
Tue, April 28, 2009 - 11:34 AMQntal, a German group, was featured at our local Faerieworlds Festival in 2008. If you scroll down the page here www.faerieworlds.com/index2008.html you can hear samples of their music and also other bands that played. There is a new site up for 2009 with some different bands on it, too. www.faerieworlds.com/
This festival is local to my area but it is getting pretty big and well known.

Wed, May 6, 2009 - 1:32 AMSorry for delay in getting back to you..
If you're still looking, Daughters of Gaia is on myspace/thedaughtersofgaia or daughtersofgaia.com and you can download stuff from itunes.
Whilst browsing myspace, look at Karen Kay's page, she's in their top friends and she sings Faery music. Also Priscilla Hernandez is lovely!
Good luck, let us know how it goes x -

Wed, October 21, 2009 - 11:46 AMGerman Band Mila Mar their first album Nova. They aimed at making fairy music, but their first album is very earthy and tribal. ;)
You listen to some of their music on last.fm or youtube.com
